Body odours TMI?
Sunday, December 5th, 2021 11:07 am I suppose I should wash my hair. Like, at this point it's once a week. But. But. I chopped it off pre-surgery and it doesn't feel dirty at all. Or look dirty either. There may be something to this natural body oils thing after all.
As in, there was a late medieval re-enactment thing somewhere where people lived the full lifestyle, 24/7, for however many months. Controversy arose over bathing. Now, the medievals bathed, but not every day. What they did do was change their underclothes. But one guy said he couldn't stand not washing so he washed daily but wore the same underclothes. As a control, one woman didn't bathe but changed her linen daily. Result: guy smelled, woman didn't.
I've been doing warm cloth wipedowns, and not every day either. Ordinarily I can't go more than two days without the underarms starting a very distinct acrid odor. I don't use deodorant because I discovered long ago that that does cause odor. But evidently so does washing with (organic, no additives, contains evening primrose oil I think, or possibly olive oil) soap because we're at two weeks since my last shower and I still smell like a baby. And my skin hasn't dried out in the non-stop heating-- except for my hands, the one bit that does get washed frequently. Can't see this as a lifestyle- I love hot water too much, and anyway, summer- but it's something to think about.
