Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 09:28 pmSomeone called Sayeed gave some firm the wrong cell phone number, or the firm wrote it down wrong, so I've been woken early several days in a row with them calling and me not getting to it in time, and when I called back getting 'if you know your caller's extension please enter it now'. But finally had it together today to tell the nice lady about the wrong number. I actually don't mind this- though the 8 a.m. one was a bit much- because I had an earlyish physio appt today for fifteen minutes after my normal waking time. Also allowed me to get to the laundromat early yesterday before the crowds and their Bounce dryer sheets arrived to hog the washers and stink up the dryers. So now I have three pairs of clean trousers, go me.
I finished Fatal Legacy and The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, both of them head-hurty twisty in their own ways, the second much more than the first of course. But the two families in the Flavia Albia still have me confused as to who married who when. I also started a reread of Evelyn but gave it up because no, I really don't want to try figuring out who was who when such and such happened and anyway I had Ancillary Justice to get through. I'm currently getting through Ancillary Justice which *also* has twisty questions of who is who when such and such happens. The current Flavia Albia (A Capitol Death) can wait because I don't mind keeping hard copy books for three weeks.
But the 'two weeks wait' sequel to The Golem and the Jinni just arrived so that's what I'm reading next, I guess. At least it should be kinder to the naive reader that I am.
