Friday, April 5th, 2024 03:06 pmHaving no large envelopes in which to put my papers for the accountant and because this week was all Noyes Fludde when I couldn't get to the stationers, I ordered them from the mighty river. Due Wednesday but Wednesday was Fludde to the nth so I was promised an updated delivery on Friday. Now I assume any accountant will be open weekends during April but does Fedex know that? I have no confidence. And Fedex guy up the street is closed on the weekend. So fine, yesterday morning put papers in a plastic file folder and walk up to the end of the street, where guy informs me Fedex gives you a paper envelope anyway. And off they go, and let it go which way it will etc. etc.
My envelopes arrived Thursday evening, as it happens, along with Service Canada tax forms for both bro and s-i-l: which is leaving it a little LATE aren't you, not to mention why haven't they got the address changed any time in the last four years? Must assume the pair of them file late, which you can do if filing quarterly as the self-employed must, but they're both retired now. So yeah, no idea what gives there.
Did get to library yesterday as well in rain turning to sleet, and have my three holds. Got to the laundromat today and washed my terrycloth sheet bedause that and pillowcases are the only things I feel need a regular wash, pace the Guardian. Forgot the kitchen cloths because I always do, but fine. I can boil those if needed. But couldn't find my hot water detergent so was going to buy detergent there. And *of course* the machine was broken, so hoofed it down to Fiesta and bought (of necessity) liquid laundry soap there because they have no powder at all. Could have bought old reliable Tide but tried to undscrew the top to sniff it and couldn't, so hypoallergenic Whatever it is.
