Thursday, June 27th, 2024 09:15 pmFor the moment it is cool! and dry!! so today was devoted to laundry. The dark wash dating from dear god when was it, the second week of June? the last time it was 'wear a fleecy' cool. And a bunch of oversized tshirts I slept in and sweated into during the heat dome last week. Put on the line where they flapped in the north wind that blew the current cool 'n' dry in last night or whenever it was, and dried in a few hours.
Then took sheets and towels to the laundromat this evening, which was blessedly empty, because more and more dryers have the out of order sign on them. Went up to the super between whiles to stock up against the long weekend, dropped stuff off at house, came back with ten minutes left on the dryer, so sat in the corner by the huge washing machine that you have to use a stepstool to add your detergent to, so huge is it. Machine went click clack clunk clunk because guy seemed to be washing his belt as well as everything else. Which I'm pretty sure included the garbage bag in which he'd brought his laundry. Maybe he washes it to keep it clean or maybe he just throws everything in the machine, bag and all. With guys you never know. Both my brothers are domestically literate, though I have no idea how they got that way, so the shenanigans of other guys always perplex me. But laundromat guys did hold doors for me coming and going, and one asked if I needed help when I was twisting around to get my water bottle from the rollator basket, so their mothers are doing some things right.
Is very nice to be out in sunlight after 8 p.m. I rarely am out in the evening, so the visibility is much appreciated.
And with the toing and froing I hit 8500 steps today, so go me.
