(A subject that good Canucks generally avoid. The real reason we have American expats up here is so that those with the recessive gene for politics (my older bro, hem hem) have someone to talk to. Canadian politics, like Canadian literature, is generally held to be dull dull dull.)

Given that that was the first post-Covid election, I'm surprised that Reform and the Tories did as well as they did. Not to be edgy and all, but shouldn't most of them be dead?

Liquor strike is a go. No more Twisted Tea for me. While I'm all for coolers and wine being sold in convenience stores in the ordinary way of things, I'm not for 85% of LCBO workers being P/T, even with a union, and I will trust Doug Ford's intentions as I do adders fanged. He wants to make his friends rich, end story. In proof whereof,  Roblaws will get to sell liquor as it now gets to sell beer, but independents like Fiesta will not.

On my way to the library, passed two little girls and their lemonade stand. Stopping for a glass, am queried 'Sweet or semi-sweet?' The kids are alright,  which cheers me enormously.
