My walker started rattling yesterday in a worrying fashion. I came home and googled rollator repair, all of which are closed on weekends and located in far suburban reaches. Fretted for a bit, then located my set of allen keys and a fortuitous Phillips screwdriver which I'd put in the odds and ends jar on the dining room table*, and went to look at the weird screws that hold my walker together. Transpires that half take an allen key and half a Phillips head, so tightened those to the best of my arthritic ability. Then took pliers to the thingies that hold the uprights and tightened them ditto. Was very pleased with myself. Of course walker rattles still because I can't tighten things sufficiently, and today one of the wheels sticks for no good reason. Highway Robbery North aka Starkman's aka the only nearby mobility outlet, will happily sell me a new walker, but not the upright kind, and of course won't service the ones they do sell. So we shall see what transpires.

The one place that makes repair house calls for I know not how much money, doesn't assemble  walkers. I called them last week, they said they'd get back to me with an outlet for upright walkers, and didn't.  Might have another go at it next week.

*I have innumerable sets of screwdrivers but can never find one when I want it. Don't remember where this one came from but am glad I didn't stick it in a drawer somewhere.
