Yes, I found it very convenient in the previous place I lived, where I had a 24 hour supermarket within ten minutes walk. I could pop in at 11 pm and pick up reduced and end of shelf life meat at half-price and stash it in my freezer. After Christmas was good for the fancy food too, like whole (small) hams and duck breasts and such.
