I'm reading poetry knowing what it means but not what it sounds like

^_^ Truthfully? I do that a lot when I read that language too. I can recognize the words but don't remember the sounds, or I know the sounds but can't reproduce the characters without seeing them. Pity, that, because it's easier to search them in a dictionary by pinyin.
