Would like to emulate my grandmother...
...and take to my bed for the rest of my life. Only she had servants and I do not.
Eh well, got to the drugstore for Benadryl and Gravol so I'm fortified against some of the side effects of the covid shot, if and when. Still not champing at the bit to get it because if it makes everything that usually aches ache worse, then I shall be completely immobilized, given how immobilized I am now. A bit better after an acupuncture session but still remarkably owie in both muscles and joints. I'm inclined to wait for a less debilitating month than April, frankly. Even if the allergies are, as last year, muted by indoors and masks, allergies are still happening and my system is registering them at some level.
Also got to the dollar store which didn't have the kind of slippers I wanted or the strength of reading glasses I wanted but did have underwear which might fit. I have enough underwear in the ordinary way of things ie if I can do laundry, but won't have enough if I'm unable to do laundry for a month. But that's thinking very far ahead at this point.
Also however missing brace turns up on the downstairs sofa, so that's ok.

Very glad the brace turned up.

Better part of valour says yes, but then I look at the schedule for the followups, which even in a best case scenario puts me in rehab/ confined to house post-op. The logistics of all this make my head hurt, especially the 'may not be able to get out of cars' consideration.
And then there's news about the province wanting to maybe delay the second shot for unmedical considerations of their own...

(My parents are expecting their second shot within the next couple of weeks. As a person who's below 50 with no significant relevant comorbidities, I can only wait for my first shot...)

It may be that but the murmurings I hear is that they simply don't have enough supply to deliver second doses in a timely manner.
At least you're still working from home with no plans to go back to an office? BoJo's 'it's open it's closed oh wait open again oh no closed oh ok open' is a tad worrying, even as our own drug-dealing premier does the same. (The joke going round is how come a former drug dealer like Ford can't find drugs when he needs them.)

I'm currently hoping that the "shops reopening" on Monday 12th April won't cause another huge surge and lockdown. But I do very much want to go into a shop for something other than the bare necessities...

Well, mask up and distance. I've been doing that with the supermarket and drugstore with (touch wood) no ill effects so far.

It could be worse. But when one's having to say "it could be worse", it's never really good.

So true.
I stick by my mantra from last year: the old guy who said 'I spent four years hiding from the Nazis in a basement.' So I'm prepared to spend four years hiding from the virus in my house.
