Henh. Evidently someone hacked into my directories and placed malicious links in the ones that had index.htm coding. No idea when this happened, but possibly the same time as Aesthe got hacked? Because seriously, who would even know that my stuff existed?

Sounds logical, but feh. What a disgusting/depressing thing to do.

Hackers are beyond comprehension. One of them hacked into a Buddhist organization's wp here in Toronto. Peace and love for all sentient beings doesn't cut it with them.

Annoying! Is it fixable?

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2011-08-08 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Has been fixed thanks to my lovely web provider tammalee. Involves removing a litttle bit of code.

Ugh! ...but glad you got it fixed. *sigh* hackers - I just ... there must be a way these people can be useful, instead of proving one upmanship all the time. Megalomaniacs. Gah!

Like taggers, as they call the guys with the spray paint here. God only knows what they're doing, God only knows what they think they're doing. Gah indeed.

In cases like this, there is probably not even a person behind it (the individual site hacking), but rather a script-bot that crawls the web looking for vulnerabilities and changing things as it goes. Yes, somebody had to program that, but it was more likely a script-kiddie than a hacker. (Semantics, yes. *shrug*)

I was half-thinking that no one would go to the trouble and surely it had to be something mechanical. Though if something mechanical took out Aesthe, I wish it'd give it back.
